Flamebar BW11

Flamebar BW11 has been designed and developed to be a lightweight, highly durable fire-rated ductwork system complying with the latest standards. Flamebar BW11 is a specially formulated water-based compound that is sprayed onto metal ductwork. The premium coating contains selected mineral fillers in a low permeability elastomeric binder to a nominal thickness of 0.7mm to give a finished product, which has been successfully tested for international use under cellulosic fire conditions for up to and including 4 hours duration. Flamebar BW11 fire-rated ductwork is produced in sections and assembled on-site utilizing tested fireproof gaskets and sealants.

Flamebar BW11 has a number of distinct benefits:

  • The ability to provide a 2-hour fire resistance when handling internal gas to temperatures of 400°C.
  • A reduction in the duct gauge construction or thickness
  • Reduction in duct reinforcement
  • Flexibility in design, Flamebar ductwork has been tested for both rectangular and circular ductwork.
  • The system has been successfully tested for international use, under cellulosic fire conditions, to give in excess of four hours of fire resistance in the event of a fire.

Fire Retardant Gasket

Flamebar Fire Retardant Gasket is a Class ‘0’ highly flexible PVC Nitrile rubber, chemically inert foam tape, designed to be squeezed between the flange to produce a high-quality seal, which is unaffected by moisture or water and is impervious to the ingress of grease. Along with the Flamebar Intumescent Acrylic sealant, it forms the perfect barrier against leaks.

FLAMEBAR Fire Retardant Gasket is manufactured in the EU, meeting the highest quality control standards in compliance with ISO EN 9002. FLAMEBAR Fire Retardant Gasket has fire performance to Class 1 as per BS 476 Part 7 and meets Class ‘0’ as per BS 476 Part 6 to Fire category Building Regulations.

Butyl Gasket

Elgen’s UL 723 listed 440 Butyl Gasket is a high-quality gray butyl gasket tape. It is designed for use with 4 bolt duct connection systems. It is non-curing and adheres extremely well to metal surfaces.

Apply in normal dry working conditions. All surfaces need to be free of dust, dirt, oil, moisture, grease, etc.

Apply directly from the roll or cut to size with a knife or scissors. Press 440 Butyl Gasket firmly into place with your hand. Intimate contact must be made between tape and subsurface to assure an air-tight seal. Gently peel off the silicone release paper. When lapping tape, allow at least 1/4” (6.4 mm) overlap.

Promat Sealant

PROMASEAL Acrylic Sealant is a water-based acrylic sealant. The advantage of this environmentally friendly water-based sealant is in making post installation and site clean-up easier.

If installed correctly, once cured PROMASEAL Acrylic Sealant should not crack and it can be simply overpainted. It has good resistance to water characteristics and some movement capabilities.

Note that: PROMASEAL Acrylic Sealant is water resistant once fully cured. However, it is not recommended for external use. The sealant should not be used where continuous water immersion is likely.

The sealant is not recommended for use in wet or damp areas where the ambient humidity is consistently high, e.g. bathrooms. The sealant is not recommended for use around services where high movement may be expected. It is not recommended for use around services that require more than ±15% movement.

PROMASEAL Acrylic Sealant is a vital component of most penetration seals and is used in conjunction with our range of fire-stopping products and systems. PROMASEAL Acrylic Sealant is supplied in 300ml cartridges and 600ml foils.
